AfterSignal analyzes audio recordings of conversations and generates structured intelligence reports. This privacy policy explains how we handle your data.

2. What We Collect

Account Information: Email address, name, and payment information provided during registration. Payment processing is handled by Stripe — we do not store your credit card details.

Audio Recordings: Audio files you upload for analysis. These are processed to generate your Accountability Report and are deleted immediately after processing is complete. We do not retain, archive, or store your audio files.

Intelligence Reports: The Accountability Reports generated from your recordings are stored in your account so you can access them. These are associated with your account and accessible only to you.

Usage Data: We collect basic usage information such as the number of reports generated and general interaction patterns to improve the service. We do not track your activity across other websites.

3. How We Use Your Data

We use your data solely to:

• Generate your Accountability Reports
• Maintain and improve the AfterSignal service
• Process payments and manage your subscription
• Communicate with you about your account or the service

We do not use your audio recordings or report content to train AI models.

4. Audio Processing

This is the most important part of our privacy commitment:

• Audio files are uploaded over an encrypted connection (TLS)
• Audio is processed by our analysis engine to generate your report
• Audio is deleted immediately after processing — we do not store recordings
• Only the generated intelligence report is retained in your account
• Processing is automated — no human listens to your recordings

5. Data Security

• All data is encrypted in transit using TLS
• All stored data (reports, account information) is encrypted at rest
• Each account is isolated — only authenticated users can access their own reports
• We use industry-standard authentication through Clerk
• API keys and sensitive credentials are stored server-side only

6. What We Don't Do

• No audio storage — recordings are deleted after processing
• No calendar access — we never request access to your calendar
• No meeting bots — we don't join or record your meetings
• No third-party sharing — we never sell, rent, or share your data with third parties
• No AI training — your conversations are not used to train models
• No advertising — we don't serve ads or share data with advertisers

7. Data Retention

• Audio recordings: Deleted immediately after processing
• Accountability Reports: Retained in your account until you delete them or close your account
• Account information: Retained while your account is active
• Payment records: Retained as required by law and for accounting purposes

8. Your Rights

You may:

• Access your reports and account data at any time through the dashboard
• Delete individual reports from your account
• Close your account by contacting us at support@aftersignal.ai — we will delete your account data, including all stored reports, within 30 days
• Request a copy of your stored data by contacting support

9. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate AfterSignal:

• Clerk — authentication and account management
• Stripe — payment processing
• Deepgram — speech-to-text transcription (audio is processed and not retained by Deepgram per their data processing agreement)
• Anthropic (Claude) — conversation analysis (content is processed and not retained per Anthropic's API data policy)
• Vercel — hosting

Each of these providers has their own privacy practices. We select providers that align with our commitment to data security and do not retain your content after processing.

10. Cookies and Tracking

We use essential cookies required for authentication and site functionality. We do not use tracking cookies or third-party advertising cookies.

11. Children's Privacy

AfterSignal is a business tool and is not intended for use by individuals under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or through the service. Continued use of AfterSignal after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
