Terms of Service
AfterSignal
Last Updated: February 13, 2026
1. Agreement
By creating an account or using AfterSignal, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
2. What AfterSignal Does
AfterSignal is a conversation analysis service. You upload audio recordings of conversations, and AfterSignal generates structured Accountability Reports that identify decisions, commitments, risks, and action items from those conversations.
AfterSignal is an analytical tool. Reports are generated by AI and are intended to supplement — not replace — your own judgment, legal counsel, or professional advice.
3. Your Account
- You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
- You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
- You must provide accurate information when creating your account.
- Notify us immediately at support@aftersignal.ai if you believe your account has been compromised.
4. Your Responsibilities — Recording Consent
This is critical. By uploading a recording to AfterSignal, you represent and warrant that:
- You had the legal right to record the conversation, including compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local recording consent laws
- You have obtained any required consent from participants in the recording
- The recording does not violate any confidentiality agreement, court order, or other legal obligation
Recording consent laws vary by jurisdiction. Some states and countries require all-party consent to record a conversation. It is your sole responsibility to ensure your recordings are lawfully made.
AfterSignal does not provide legal advice on recording consent and is not liable for recordings uploaded in violation of applicable law.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Upload recordings you do not have the legal right to record or analyze
- Use the service to facilitate illegal activity
- Attempt to access other users' data or reports
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the service
- Use the service to generate content that is fraudulent, misleading, or harmful
- Resell or redistribute AfterSignal reports as a competing service
- Interfere with or disrupt the service or its infrastructure
6. Subscriptions and Payment
AfterSignal is a paid subscription service. By subscribing, you agree to pay the applicable fees for your selected plan.
- Billing: Subscriptions are billed monthly. Payment is processed through Stripe.
- Renewal: Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled before the next billing date.
- Cancellation: You may cancel your subscription at any time through the dashboard or by contacting support. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. No partial refunds are provided for unused time within a billing period.
- Price changes: We may change pricing with 30 days' notice. Continued use after a price change constitutes acceptance.
- Report limits: Your plan determines the number of reports available per billing period. Unused reports do not roll over.
7. Intellectual Property
Your content: You retain all rights to your audio recordings and the conversations they contain. By uploading a recording, you grant AfterSignal a limited, temporary license to process the audio solely for the purpose of generating your report. This license terminates when processing is complete and the audio is deleted.
Your reports: The Accountability Reports generated from your recordings are yours. You may use, share, export, and distribute your reports as you see fit.
Our service: The AfterSignal service, including its analysis engine, interface, branding, and methodology, is the intellectual property of AfterSignal. Nothing in these terms grants you rights to our technology beyond the right to use the service as a subscriber.
8. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS." To the maximum extent permitted by law:
- AfterSignal does not guarantee the accuracy or completeness of generated reports. Reports are AI-generated analysis and may contain errors, miss relevant information, or misinterpret conversation content.
- AfterSignal reports are not legal documents. They do not constitute legal evidence, binding records, or certified transcripts unless independently verified.
- AfterSignal does not provide legal, financial, or professional advice. Consult qualified professionals for decisions based on report content.
- We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at all times.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, AfterSignal's total liability to you for any claims arising from or related to the service shall not exceed the amount you paid for the service in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.
AfterSignal shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, business opportunities, or goodwill, regardless of whether we were advised of the possibility of such damages.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless AfterSignal, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorney fees) arising from:
- Your use of the service
- Your violation of these terms
- Your violation of any recording consent or privacy laws
- Any claim that a recording you uploaded was made without proper consent
11. Account Termination
By you: You may close your account at any time by contacting support@aftersignal.ai. Your stored reports will be deleted within 30 days.
By us: We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms, engage in abusive behavior, or if required by law. We will provide notice when reasonably possible.
12. Dispute Resolution
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, without regard to conflict of law principles.
Any disputes arising from these terms or the service shall be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association, except that either party may seek injunctive relief in court for intellectual property violations or data security breaches.
13. Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email or through the service at least 30 days before they take effect. Continued use of AfterSignal after changes constitutes acceptance.
14. Severability
If any provision of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full effect.
